Pilates has something for every body, it teaches you to focus the mind as you exercise the body, gradually improving your coordination, body awareness, flexibility, and overall alignment. Pilates systematically exercises all the muscle groups in your body, challenging the weak areas as well as the strong. The Pilates technique particularly focuses on strengthening the muscles around the centre of your body; these include your abdominal muscles, the muscles in your lower, middle and upper back, and the muscles that are responsible for your posture.

Tai Chi
You may have seen its beautiful flowing movements on television, on the internet or even in your local park, but what exactly is Tai Chi?
Is it:
Answer? Tai Chi is all of these things!
The Benefits of Tai Chi are well documented and include stress reduction, improvement of lung elasticity, regulation of blood pressure, improved balance and co-ordination, improved concentration and memory, joint mobility, better posture and muscle strength accrued through regular practice.
The leg strength, flexibility and relaxed concentration developed in Tai Chi can really improve golfing skills. Tiger Woods attributed his powerful swing to his early experience of Tai Chi and Qigong.
The Class consists of warm up exercises to stretch and loosen the body, Qigong (pronounced Chee Gong) and Tai Chi form. The form is a sequence of slow gentle movements, in this case the 24 posture compact form from the Yang Style. All exercises are done standing; there is no need for props or mats. Just wear comfortable clothes.
Tai Chi employs a method of sustainable training called “soft limits” meaning that all the exercises are suitable for beginners and more advanced students to work with at their own ability level.
The class is taught by Joe Salmon a professional Tai Chi Instructor with more than 16 years experience. Joe is a Grade A Instructor member of The Tai Chi Union For Great Britain and a director of Tai Chi Nation Ltd.
