James Temple

What do you do?
I manage the rackets section at the Club. This includes overseeing squash and racketball with support from our Head Professional Mike Harris as well as organising and delivering  the tennis programme.

What do you love about the Club and working in leisure?
The Club has some of the best squash courts in the region and with the recent investment in four new tennis courts the rackets section is blessed with fantastic facilities. It’s great to be able work with a range of ages and abilities from toddlers through to players in their 80s, those just starting out to members competing in competitions and teams.

When did you start?
I began coaching at the Club in 2011 whilst studying at Exeter University before taking up my current position in 2014.

A sentence about you?
Passionate about developing racket sports at the Club and keen to welcome and work with players of all ages and abilities.

Favourite leisure activities?
Tennis – it probably goes without saying! Away from work I’m enjoying taking up more running again and, when I have time, like to get to St. Mary’s to support my local football team Southampton.
