We are seeking a fully qualified Assistant Greenkeeper to join our forward-thinking Golf Course Team.
The ideal candidate should hold NVQ Level 11 in Sports Turf Maintenance. Being self motivated is essential.
The position is ideal for a self-motivated, enthusiastic person with a desire for outdoor work and a keen eye for detail. A hardworking attitude is essential to enable the Club to present the course in the best possible condition.

This is a rare opportunity to train as a Greenkeeper at one of the region’s top golf courses.
Working alongside the Golf Course Course Manager, Deputy Course Manager and other Greenkeepers team to ensure that the golf course is kept in a first class playing condition and that it, and the surrounding areas within the boundaries of the Club, are tidy, well presented and maintained, in accordance with the standards contained in the course policy document.
The Assistant Greenkeeper is expected to understand the requirements involved in maintaining a quality golf course and will work with the team to maintain all playing surfaces (Greens, Aprons, Fairways, Tees, Semi and Surrounds, Primary Rough, Ecology Rough and practise facilities).
The job role will involve the following:
Maintain all cutting units to the standard required by the manufacturer.
Maintain, repair and install the irrigation system when necessary.
To carry out any construction work as and when required.
To setup the course to the required standard set down by the R & A and the club (Moving Tees, Changing Holes and Raking Bunkers).
To carry out all major operations on the course (solid and hollow tinning greens; slitting of greens and fairways; verti-draining of greens and fairways; topdressing; application of fertilisers and pesticides and any other chemicals required; bailing; edging and spraying of bunkers.
Yearly maintenance of all golf course furniture and tee markers.
Maintenance of all trees and boundaries on the course (Strimming, spraying and pruning)
To work in conjunction with specialist contractors if and when required, in order to assist them and to ensure that club standards are met.

40 hours a week, weekend and Bank Holiday work on rotational basis.
Salary: £17K – £19K depending on experience.
