Devon Golf Girls Captain for 2019

Jan 21, 2019 | Jenni Ashford

Congratulations to Exeter Golf and Country Club member, Charlotte Husband, who is the Devon Golf Girls’ Captain 2019.

Charlotte will be leading the Devon girls squad this year, which includes four of her fellow golfers from Exeter Golf and Country Club. The other four golfers from Exeter are Sophie Paige, Chloe Hall, Flossy Voaden and Hannah Reynolds.

Charlotte has been playing golf for ten years, reducing her handicap from 36 to 5 and has played in major golf championships in the South West, including last year’s England Girls’ Amateur Championships last year. Despite her youth, Charlotte also regularly plays in the Devon Golf Ladies 2nd Team – and has done since she was 15.

Charlotte says, “My plans for 2019 for the Devon Golf Junior Girls is to encourage more junior girls to compete, hopefully strengthening the Inter-Counties Team ready for Dudsbury in August later this year.”

Darren Everett, Director of Golf at Exeter Golf and Country Club believes Charlotte’s captaincy is well-earned recognition of her exceptional ability and her team skills. Darren says, “Charlotte has been an integral part of the Devon Girls team for a few years and her captaincy is most deserved. Charlotte did a fantastic job as Junior Captain of Exeter Golf and Country Club last year and provides excellent motivation for younger girls coming up through the junior golf academy. We look forward to setting a date for Charlotte’s fundraising event for Devon Girls later this year. In the meantime, I wish Charlotte and the Devon Girls team, the very best for the season ahead.”
