The 2019 Club President of Exeter Golf and Country Club, Carol Horgan, has chosen local Exeter charity, Dream-A-Way, as her charity of the year.

Carol, who has been involved with Exeter Golf and Country Club since 1984, having worked at the club and been a member, wanted to fund-raise for a charity that improves the lives of local families in need of support. Dream-A-Way came top of the list.

The Exeter based charity helps to make dreams come true for Devon’s children and adults with disabilities or life affecting health conditions. Ran entirely by unpaid volunteers, Dream-a-way supports almost  2000 people a year, creating memorable experiences through days out or holidays.  In one year, over 1200 guests enjoyed the beautiful Devon seaside in one of Dream-a-way’s luxury caravans at Devon Cliffs and Sandy Bay and more than 100 people experienced their ‘dream holiday’.

Carol will be helping to raise awareness and funding during her year as Club President at Exeter Golf and Country Club. She is planning golf days, bridge events and a dinner with live music.

Gill Freeman, Vice Chair of Dream-A-Way said, “Thank you to Carol for choosing Dream-A-Way as her charity in her special year as Club President of Exeter Golf and Country Club. It is very much appreciated and we are looking forward to working with Carol and the club members and supporting  fundraising events for Dream-A-Way which will enable us, together , to help even more local families.”
