England Ranking Junior Squash Competition

Jan 30, 2019 | Jenni Ashford

Exeter Golf and Country Club hosted the England Ranking Junior Squash Competition, with 70 children and teenage squash players taking part on Saturday 26th January.

The England Junior Squash Ranking Competition is for players aged between Under 13 to Under 19 years old.

The event had a huge turnout, with 70 players from all over the UK coming down to Exeter to compete. This included some of the top ranked Juniors in England in some of the age groups, meaning that the quality of play on show was high indeed. It was one of the busiest days of Squash hosted at the club with over 100 matches taking place across the clubs 5 squash courts.

There was success for some of the Exeter Golf and Country Club’s own Junior members with Oliver Gribble, Devina Gandhi and Ruby Jarman winning their age categories (Boys U13, Girls U15 and Girls U19 respectively.) Other notable results were Lauren Brown finishing runner up in Girls U13 and Beau Gillingham finishing Plate Runner Up in Girls U15!

There was some great quality squash on show over the course of the day and it was fantastic to see so many of our Devon Junior Squash players competing well against some of the best in the country.

The club has further Junior events on the horizon as it will be hosting the inaugural South West Junior Squash Club Team Championships in May and then a second Ranking Competition in June too. Lots to look forward too then!
