Thanks to the golf course twig collectors

Mar 1, 2019 | Jenni Ashford

It was bacon baps all round on Tuesday when a dedicated group of senior section golfers got together for a twig collection party.

Thirteen golfers from the seniors section helped the greenkeepers with the collection of twigs and debris on the golf course.

Dave Chappell, Deputy Golf Course Manager said, “Thank you so much to everyone who helped us. The benefits of clearing debris are that is leaves a play-friendly surface, it promotes improved grass coverage, it’s easier to find golf balls which speeds up pace of play and last of all, prolongs the blades of the greenkeeping machinery. The morning was finished off with well earned refreshments .”
