New Ladies’ Golf Buddy Coordinator

Feb 13, 2019 | Jenni Ashford

In a bid to ease the transition from Get Into Golf to golf membership, Exeter Golf and Country Club has introduced an new buddy initiative, which is now headed up by member, Tina Fairman, as ‘Ladies’ Golf Buddy Coordinator’.

The new members buddy system has been introduced to help new golfers move seamlessly from coaching programmes into club membership.  Often seen as a daunting process, from the point of view of meeting people, getting used to playing the course when progressing from coaching-based Academy Membership, the new Buddy Coordinator is there to support the new golfers.

Having been a popular golf member for many years, Tina was the perfect choice for the new role, heading up the collective ‘welcome to golf’ by the ladies’ golf section.

As well as joining new golfers out on the course, Tina will be there a a constant friendly contact that any new female golfer can go to, to help them integrate into the ladies golf membership group. Plans include introducing new golfers to the 4, 7 or 9 hole loops, to help them gain more course experience, along with inviting them along to social events and competitions where they can meet other fellow female golfers.

Darren Everett, Director of Golf at Exeter Golf and Country Club said, “Thank you to Tina for volunteering for this new and very vital role. Tina is the ideal choice as Buddy Coordinator as she has a lovely, warm and friendly personality that will help any new golfer feel at ease straight away. The benefit to the new ladies is that constant contact they have with the other women at the club , who can share their knowledge of how the golf section works so any questions and queries can easily be answered.”
