The Exeter Golf and Country Club annual Ladies’ Pro Am took place on Tuesday 7th May raising money for the golf charity of the year, Rainbow Living.
36 teams of amateur golfers from across the region paired up with a professional to compete for a prize table worth £1000. The weather was dry but a cold breeze made the conditions tricky. The course was in fantastic condition and with compliments passed to Golf Course Manager, John Parr, and his greens team throughout the event. The main sponsor for the event was System Six Kitchens.
The professional individual event was won by Ryan Pope, Golf Pro at Exeter Golf and Country Club, who signed for a superb 5 under par 64. This gave him a 3 shot victory over James Ruth and Chris Wyatt. Tom Jessamine came in 4th with a 1 under par 68.
In the team event, the home team of Debbie Bent, Sue Gannon and Sally Rimmer alongside Tom were holding on to top spot until right at the end when they had to settle for 3rd. The winners of the team were led by Joe Cruse with 83pts.
The prizes were presented by Ladies’ Golf Captain, Alison Crooks, and Ruth Hathaway from Rainbow Living. A total of £2354.35 was raised for the Exeter based charity who provide supported living for adults with learning disabilities in Devon.
Darren Everett, Director of Golf at Exeter Golf and Country Club said, “Well done to the Pro-Am Committee for organising such a great day – and well done to the winners! A big thank you to the Ladies Pro Am main sponsor, System Six Kitchens and all the other sponsors and supporters on the day.”
