Exeter Golf and Country Club to host Ladies Professional Squash Tournament

Mar 1, 2019 | Jenni Ashford

On the 23rd and 24th March Exeter Golf and Country Club will host the South West’s first ladies professional squash ranking competition.

Four rounds of highly competitive professional squash will be played over the course of the weekend, with players from all over the UK, South Africa and Korea all taking part. The number one seed and favorite for the event is England’s Millie Tomlinson who is currently ranked at 22 in the world, but given the depth and quality of the rest of the draw she will have her work cut out to win it.

Matches are free for spectators to come and watch throughout the weekend, with amateur Ladies and Men’s Graded Squash competitions running alongside the main event. The weekend will feature two days of high quality squash action from amateurs and professionals alike. The draw has been published with match times and line ups.

Mike Harris, Squash Professional at Exeter Golf and Country Club said, “Thank you to the companies and individuals who have provided financial sponsorship toward the event. Your contributions have made this kind of competition possible, and it is great to be able to bring such high level ladies’ squash down to Devon. I really hope that people can get inspired to get involved in playing more squash from coming to watch these matches. Thanks must go to all the sponsors.”
