The Pro Shop team at Exeter Golf and Country Club is expanding, ready for the forthcoming launch of the new Topsham Golf Academy at the end of September.

David Cockayne is joining the team as PGA Assistant Golf Professional, which is headed up by Director of Golf, Darren Everett. He joins Tom Jessamine, Chris Honeywill and Ryan Pope working at both the Pro Shop and the Topsham Golf Academy.

For the past 12 months, David has been working at Tiverton Golf Club gaining valuable experience working as a coach and in retail. For the two years before becoming professional, David lived in Spain playing the amateur golf circuit.

David was a member of Woodbury Park where he grew to love the game of golf.

David said, “I am extremely excited to join the team at Exeter Golf and Country Club. Being involved in this prestigious club which is in the rare position of having a waiting list for men’s golf, is something a huge achievement. I am also thrilled to be joining the team at a time of change and development and cannot wait to start coaching at the Topsham Golf Academy.”

Darren Everett said, “I am proud to welcome David to my team. We have a very strong professional golf team at Exeter Golf and Country Club and David will definitely add to that.   I am confident that my team and I will continue to offer the ultimate service for retailing, coaching and custom fitting both at here the club and at Topsham Golf Academy when it opens later this month.”
