A new steam room is being installed at Exeter Golf and Country Club along with a refurbishment to the jacuzzi and pool shower area of the indoor swimming pool.
Exeter-based company Vision Installs have been commissioned to design and create the new steam room and jacuzzi area this summer.
The new steam area is triple the size of the existing room with a higher level of comfort for users. Chromotherapy colour-change lighting and audio are also being installed for maximum relaxation.
With seating for up to 12 people, the longer seating areas will allow users to even stretch out during quieter times. The Italian designed steam system, created by Teuco, produces a larger quantity of steam and provides a constant temperature throughout for the ultimate well-being experience.
With large format wall and floor tiles finished in different shades of grey, the redesigned area and steam room will look sleek and contemporary with a luxurious feel.
The ceiling of the steam room will have porcelain tiles finished in white with a gentle slope towards the back wall to eliminate drips.
Ross Pollard, owner of Vision Installs said, “Vision Installs is delighted to have been chosen as the construction company for the steam room project at Exeter Golf and Country Club. We specialise in steam rooms, saunas, wet rooms and bathrooms for both commercial and domestic use. As a member of Exeter Golf and Country Club, I like to follow up my evening gym sessions with a swim in the indoor or outdoor pool and a short time in the steam room. Therefore I am personally excited about our plans to transform the dated steam room to a steam room to be proud of, as well as being pleased to have won the contract from a business point of view. ”
The work is scheduled to take just under a month, starting from Monday 24th July. The indoor and outdoor swimming pools will remain open as usual while the steam room and jacuzzi area will be sealed off for the work to take place.

The benefits of using a steam room
Relieves tension
The heat helps to soothe nerve endings, reduces joint pain, arthritis, migraines and headaches and relaxes muscles
Reduces stress
Heat releases endorphins, reducing the feeling of stress on the body to leave users feeling rejuvenated.
Clears the skin
Steam clears skin impurities and improves circulation for a healthy glow.
Aids in weight loss
Frequent visits to steam rooms or saunas can lead to extra sweat loss and may even shed a few extra pounds of water weight.
Opens the sinuses
This can be especially beneficial for those who suffer from chronic congestion or sinus infections – wet heat works particularly well for this.
Removes toxins
A good sweat will help eliminate toxins.
Promotes healthy blood flow
Feel more refreshed from the increased blood flow and circulation brought on by the heat.
Post-workout relaxation
Relax those hard-worked muscles following a work-out to aid recovery and help muscle fibres heal.
Me-time
Enjoy a good chat while sat in the steam room with other members! Or enjoy the peace and zone out after a long day.
