Golfers at Exeter Golf and Country Club have raised £945 for the NHS.
Director of Golf, Darren Everett launched the prize draw in Exeter, as part of a nationwide campaign by Foremost professional at clubs around the country. The NHS Draw was launched to support the NHS frontline staff as well as bringing golfers together who are missing seeing their fellow golfers.
Darren said, “Everyone has been touched by the heroic effort that our frontline NHS staff have been putting in as they try to combat Coronavirus. As golf professionals with a membership who are desperately missing playing the game we love, it is vital that me maintain a consistent communication with our membership, many of whom may well be having to isolate on their own.”
The NHS Draw ticks both boxes.
Draw tickets cost £5, with 50% of proceeds going to the NHS and the rest used to cover the cost of the prizes.
Darren continued, “I am so proud to say, we had a brilliant response from Exeter Golf and Country Club members! We sold £1890 of tickets. We were able to pay out £945 worth of prizes, while donating the fantastic sum of £945 to the NHS.”
The draw prizes and winners at Exeter Golf and Country Club include:
Callaway Cart Bag – Janet Milford
Footjoy Golf Shoes – Alan Cleave
Titleist SM8 wedge – George Robinson
Adidas Golf Shoes – Ali Ross
Footjoy Pullover – Ann Willett
Skechers Golf Shoes – Eileen Stockman

2 x 30 Minute Trackman Practice Sessions – Paul Smale
Taylormade Pix Golf Balls – Duncan Beck
Titleist Pro V Golf Balls – Kevin Rainford

The money raised across the country will be donated collectively to form a substantial total to pass on to the NHS – an update will follow!
Darren said, “I want to say a huge thank you to all our members who took part in the prize draw. It means a lot to be able to support this national initiative with a significant contribution by our Exeter Golf and Country Club golfers.”
