Director of Golf at Exeter Golf and Country Club, Darren Everett, has been awarded the title of PGA Manager within the PGA’s newly launched Membership Accreditation Structure.

Having held the title of Advanced PGA Professional for a number of years, Darren is proud to add another feather to his cap with this recognition of his commitment to golf management.

Darren submitted details of his career and achievements for the PGA accreditation review at the end of last year, and received the good news this morning – a much-needed lift during lockdown!

The PGA realigning their accreditation structure for qualified PGA Professionals

The new membership framework is expected to have positive benefits across the golf industry. The PGA aim to establish ‘quality standards’ for specific roles within the industry around the professional, coaching and golf facility management.

The new categories, bring with them additional educational pathways, to increase training and development opportunities for PGA Members to lead the industry and safeguard the future of golf.

PGA members can work towards achieving an upgraded and specific status depending on what an individual chooses to focus on within their career, e.g. playing, coaching or management.

Darren Everett said, “I am delighted to have been awarded the accreditation of PGA Manager. I believe that the key to successful golfing organisations is forward-thinking people. Exeter Golf and Country Club continues to sit at the forefront of golf in the region, in the enviable and rare position of having a membership waiting list. I know that from the greenkeepers team, through to my Pro Shop team, we are all committed to constantly moving the club forward. The PGA development opportunities help to support this through expertise, learning and best practice. Achieving this recognition of my efforts and dedication to ‘golf management’ acts as a bench mark within the industry; one which I aim to keep raising at every opportunity.”
