Results from the President’s Golf Days

Club President Les Nicks hosted two golf days for the women and men golfers on Tuesday 26th and Saturday 30th June, fundraising for his charity of the year, The Samaritans.


President’s Golf day for Women

64 golfers took part in the Women’s Presidents Day, Les was on hand providing refreshments on the 8th tee throughout the day in stunning weather. The women’s section are always fantastic at supporting the presentations at the club and Les also provided a glass of fizz on arrival prior to the presentation.

Ann Harris-Deans came out on top with 39 points to win the President’s trophy. There were prizes for the top 3 in each division who are listed below:


Silver division

Bronze division

2nd Susan Edwards

President’s Golf Day for Men

164 golfers took part in the President’s golf day for men with Les once again manning the half-way house to provide pasties and refreshments for all the players. Les arrived at the club for 7am and had the last group come through the 8th hole at 4pm.

With the help of Vic Fox a silent auction took place for various rounds of golf with all proceeds going to charity.

The overall winner of the day was Mike Brown-King with 42 points. Les also provided prizes to the top 3 players in each division.

Both days were a great success with proceeds going to the Samaritans. Barclays bank kindly promised to double the first £1,000 raised from these events taking the grand total to just under £3,000. Thank you to all those who took part and supported the events.
