The Ladies Golf Committee at Exeter Golf and Country Club are walking ten miles for their charity of the year, Rainbow Living.

On Thursday 18th July, come rain or shine, the nine walkers will take their first step on the ten mile walk along the Exe Estuary Trail from Exmouth to Exeter Golf and Country Club, at 12pm sharp.

Whilst they love a good stroll around the golf course, ten miles is a stretch further than they’re used to and so they’ve strategically chosen a route blessed with watering holes along the way.

Starting from The Point Bar on Exmouth Marina, the walkers will be stopping off for ‘refreshments’ and support en route, passing through Lympstone, Exton and Topsham.

The ‘Ten Mile Team’ includes: Ladies’ Golf Captain, Ali Crooks; Ladies’ Vice Captain, Caroline Harris; Jacqui Harris; Debbie More; Vera Anderson; Sian Clarke; Lyne Beevers; Joanne Connolly and Charleen Reeves.

Support on the day and any sponsorship would be greatly appreciated by both the walkers and Rainbow Living.

Rainbow Living was selected by the 2019 Golf Captains as their charity of the year. A calendar of fundraising events at Exeter Golf and Country Club has been planned to help the city-based charity raise £50K towards a fourth ‘Rainbow House’.

Rainbow Living is a volunteer-run charity which supports adults with disabilities, mainly learning disability, by providing accommodation to enable tenants to live with their peers as independently as possible in supported living. They have three Rainbow Houses in Devon, two in Exeter and one in Torquay, and are now working towards Rainbow House four.
