Major refurbishment of function room announced

Jul 12, 2017 | Jenni Ashford

With it’s long history as one of Wear Park’s original buildings dating back hundreds of years, the Mews Room is an important part of the club, however for many years it has been the lesser used of the function rooms at Exeter Golf and Country Club. That time is now over as a refurbishment due to transform it into the best function room in Exeter is imminent.

With a unique sun-trap terrace overlooking the pool and tennis courts, it’s own bar and so many original features dating back to when it was part of the manor house stable block, the Mews is about to undergo a dramatic face-lift.

Following interior design work by Barc Architects, preparations are now taking place to progress the project so the new style Mews Room is completed in time for the autumn and Christmas meetings and party rush.

From Monday 7th August until early October the Mews Room and bar will be closed for the work to take place. The new Mews Room will combine a fresh, contemporary look with new modern furniture and carpet, high spec AV equipment and lighting scheme to complement the original barn beams and windows along with a new timber-cladded, granite topped bar and slate effect flooring.

If you wish to book the Mews Room following the refurbishment please get in touch with the club’s dedicated Events Team.
