Room to Reward for charity volunteers

Room to Reward is an organisation supporting the ‘Hidden Heroes’ within the charity sector. Working with hotels and hospitality businesses, Room to Reward offers complimentary leisure breaks for volunteers recognised by their charities for their unfaltering dedication.

Exeter Golf and Country Club has teamed up with local hotels taking part in the scheme, to offer leisure facilities for volunteers treated to a free break, to make their stay even better with time to swim, play golf, tennis or squash or use the gym.

The ‘Hidden Heroes’ are nominated by their charities. The scheme exists to say a ‘thank you’ to those who give up their time to help others in need, by using ‘unsold’ hotel rooms – creating a win-win for the volunteers, the charities they work for, and the hotels.

Some of the charities working with Room to Reward include Mind, St John Ambulance, Mencap, The National Autistic Society, Scope, YMCA, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, The Young Lives Foundation, Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, Macmillan, RSPCA, CHICKS, Whizz Kids, Kidney Research and many others.

Chris Jones, General Manager of Exeter Golf and Country Club said, “The are many ‘Hidden Heroes’ working tirelessly behind the scenes to enable charities to focus on those in need. Their dedication is inspirational and should be recognised. It’s great that by working alongside other hospitality businesses we can each treat a couple of these remarkable individuals to collectively give them the thank you they deserve.”
