New Vinyasa Yoga Class

Jul 28, 2021 | Jenni Ashford

Vinyasa or flow yoga develops strength and flexibility, while focusing on the connection between breath and movement as you flow from one pose to the next.

With a continuous flow of poses, Vinyasa Flow Yoga links postures and transitions with the breath, so often each pose immediately flows to the next. This faster-paced yoga differs from more traditional styles of yoga as a dynamic and high-energy practice that builds heat in the body, stimulates the cardiovascular system and develops strength.

Yoga instructor Natasha was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada where she discovered yoga. She explains that she was initially drawn to the physical practice, but very quickly discovered a deep sense of peace and freedom that she had never experienced before. It is the combination of these aspects that she wants to share through her yoga classes.

As well as Vinyasa Flow, Natasha also teaches prenatal and kundalini yoga.

Natasha studied Counselling Psychology at University and has worked a counsellor with young people in various different community settings, teaching yoga alongside this work, while also being a mother to 2 daughters. She moved to Devon in 2014.

Natasha said, “I am so grateful to be on this journey and it is an honour to be able to share this practice with others. My teachers taught me to always teach from the heart and to teach what I love – and that is a dynamic, mindful, flowing practice. I encourage students to really tune in to their bodies and to use the breath as a tool to stay present and to create space in the body and mind.”

Natasha’s Vinyasa Flow classes will help you improve both strength and flexibility, while encouraging you to focus on the connection between your breath and movement as you flow from one pose to the next.

All levels of experience are welcome, and modifications will be offered so you can tailor the practice to suit your body and level of experience.

There are so many benefits to practicing yoga: everything from improved cardiovascular and respiratory health, to increased immunity, improved mood, lower levels of stress, better sleep and reduced risk of injury.

Natasha believes that yoga should be accessible to everyone, as it is truly life-changing. Her aim is to create a safe, supportive and nurturing space for students to come together to build strength and flexibility in both their bodies and minds.

Natasha said, “Yoga is a passion of mine that continues to grow, and I can’t wait to share it with you!”

Vinyasa Flow Yoga is on Tuesdays at 7pm – book on the app.

The class is free for full Fitness Members or £5 for other members.
