Train to become a RLSS qualified Lifeguard with our National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NLPQ) Lifeguard Training courses at Exeter Golf and Country Club.
Our Head of Pools is a National Pool Lifeguard trainer and First Aid trainer. We offer courses in both throughout the year for members and non members.
To train as a lifeguard, you must be over 16 years old and able to swim 50 metres in less than one minute, plus 100 metres continuously on their front and the same on their back. Other requirements include the ability to tread water in deep water for more than 30 seconds, surface dive to the deepest part of the pool and climb out unaided.
The RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) course covers lifeguard duties and responsibilities, swimming pools and supervision; Emergency First-aid and First aid at work; resuscitation, rescue skills and emergencies.
